Entering the fourth day of Ramadan, Martha Tilaar Group held Garage Sale for Hope on Tuesday (9/05). Took place at Griya Cipta Wanita, this activity was not only to decluttering unused items, but also for charity. “The result of this today’s garage sales and auction will be donated to some orphanages. We don’t donate money, but consumer goods that needed by the orphanage,” said Brigitta Dewanti, chief executive for Garage Sale for Hope.

This event was only held for less than 5 hours but the anthusiasm from Martha Tilaar Group employees is really good. To make this event run orderly well, the commitee set some rules. “Visitors can only buy maximum 5 items or worth not more than Rp250.000,” said Brigitta. Various items are for sale at Garage Sale for Hope, from fashion items like batik, bag, clutch, and kebaya, dinning set, tea set, to home decoration like vase, ceramic, table lamp, and candle holder.

“This is the first time Martha Tilaar Group hold a garage sale. So fun. We could get secondhand items in very good condition with affordable price. Especially when I heard that the sales will be donated for charity, I think it’s also good opportunity for us to share goodwill in Ramadan,” said Maris, one of bazaar visitors. Brigitta added, if the result is satisfiying, this charity event will be considered as Martha Tilaar Group routine agenda. Wish us luck!
