As part of cultural trip that held by Sajian Sedap
community last Saturday (13/4), Roemah Martha Tilaar (House of Martha
Tilaar) warmly welcome the tour participant and Ministry of Tourisn team
(Kemenpar).
In this opportunity, we took them around to see Roemah
Martha Tilaar and get to know Dr.(H.C) Martha Tilaar’s past before she
become one of successful cosmetic entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
Roemah Martha Tilaar in Gombong is not just a house. Now, building that
will turns to 100 years this year functioned as Gombong’s tourism place
and activities centre for people in Gombong.
Here, children could learn
traditional dance, the youth could hold many positive community
activities such as book review or film screenings, and every year people
will gather to attend local festivals held by Roemah Martha Tilaar
such as Dolanan Anak, Pesta Kriya, or Cap Go Meh festival.
Not just to see old yet memorable ambience of Roemah Martha Tilaar, all
the participants also had a chance to try Gombong foods like Ambal Satay
and Dawet Ireng, and also learn to do makeup with Mirabella Cosmetics.
The fun is even getting merrier when Mirabella Cosmetics chose
participant with best makeup.
By the way, Martha Tilaar team also took
the guests to visit the legendary Sintren Factory and Kampung Pandan. In
Sintren, they could see the existance of local cigarette brand which
established since 1950 and still survive although it eroded by
modernism. Meanwhile, in Kampung Pandan, they could see how women there
produce handmade craft using pandan leaf.
