Throughout the first quarter of 2017 CSR team Martha Tilaar Group has been doing many activities that remain based on the four pillars of CSR-MTG, the main pillar of Beauty Green and Empowering Women with supporting pillars of Beauty Education and Beauty Culture.
Regarding the program on empowering traditional jamu seller (laskar jamu gendong) from the Ministry of Health, CSR-MTG has been entrusted to actively participate in business development and empowerment of UJG (Usaha Jamu Gendong) and UJR (Usaha Jamu Racik) in several provinces and districts throughout Indonesia since 2016 until today. The main topic in UJG and UJR is to provide knowledge to these SME traders to be able to make good and true herbal products, and not to do any harm to the consumers by giving the mixture of BKO (chemicals material) into their herbal products. For whatever reason we are not allowed to mix herbs with BKO as this will be very dangerous for humans who consume them. Even the act of mixing BKO for consumption is included criminal acts and must be prevented.
Through UJG and UJR coaching safari it is expected that the quality of herbal products produced from small home industry will be better and in accordance with the rules prevailing in this country of Indonesia. Furthermore, the traders UJG and UJR also given the provision of science to be able to innovate in producing herbal products, although only a small home industry. Through herbal product innovation it will be able to increase the selling value of herbal products which ultimately can increase their income and their family welfare.
Some areas that have been given facilitation of UJG and UJR coaching are Makassar, Kendari, Parepare, Palu, Pontianak, Kupang, Bengkulu, Padang, Jambi, Banjarmasin, Kediri, Sukabumi, Bogor, Banyuwangi, Serang, Solo, It is expected that in all provinces and districts will be given guidance to the traders, then for assistance is done by the health office (dinas Kesehatan) or other related agencies
