Dr. Martha Tilaar Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from SINDO

Jakarta, 17th September 2012 - Located at Balai Kartini, Jakarta, Dr. Martha Tilaar acknowledged a Lifetime Achievement Award in the event “Apresiasi Inovasi dan Karya UMKM" (Innovation and Work Appreciation SMEs) organized by Harian Seputar Indonesia (SINDO).

“Apresiasi Inovasi dan Karya UMKM" aims at making a community-minded entrepreneur, foster creativity, and innovation in all areas of business, as well as inspire people to start their own business or enterprise. And as a form of appreciation, SINDO gives Lifetime Achievement award as a form of appreciation to Indonesian outstanding entrepreneurs.



The Lifetime Achievement award is given to an entrepreneur figure whom assessed much to inspire the community to entrepreneurship, and has absorbed labor and help reduce unemployment in Indonesia. In this event, the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr. Syarifuddin Hasan SE., MM., MBA, and Chairman of DKI Jakarta DPD, Irman Gusman SE., MBA, was present as the award givers.

The award was given in two categories, namely category of Lifetime Achievement and Young & Creative Entrepreneur. Lifetime Achievement Award was received by Dr. Martha Tilaar (Founder and Chairman Martha Tilaar Group) and Irwan Hidayat (President Director of PT Sido Muncul), while the category of Young & Creative Entrepreneur accepted by Hendy Setiono (President Director of PT Baba Rafi Indonesia), Achmad Pramod (Founder Ayam Bakar Mas Mono) and Purdi E. Chandra (Founder of Primagama).



After receiving the award, Dr. Martha Tilaar was invited to share her rich experience in an entrepreneur talk show with Indonesia's well known eccentric businessman, Bob Sadino. Dream big, start small, work together became one of the success tips shared by Dr. Martha Tilaar to the audience to become successful entrepreneurs . In addition, Dr. Martha Tilaar stated that entrepreneurship needed innovation, creativity, focus, and the use of technology as some of the critical components to success. "The greatest asset of any person when starting a business is self-honesty and trust from others," exclaimed Dr. Martha Tilaar.
