To appreciate the commitment of a company to always
implements Halal Guarantee System, the Indonesian Food and Drug
Authority (FDA) MUI is giving an appreciation to some of the companies
which consistently implementing Halal Guarantee System very well. There
is ten business category that received the appreciations, which are
instant food, cosmetic, medicine and supplements, restaurant, catering,
service, flavor/fragrance, slaughterhouse, SME, and other categories.
Martha
Tilaar Group honored that one of its unit business, PT Martina Berto
Tbk, listed as one of the appreciation recipients in the cosmetic
category. One of the factors that make PT Martina Berto Tbk received
this appreciation is because the company has successfully got the Halal
Guarantee System Certification in 2016. This certification received
after the company gets an A Grade for the Halal Guarantee System
appraisal three times in a row. “The process for us to get a halal
certificate was accomplished according to the mechanism applied, from
choosing a good quality and safe raw ingredients, make sure that the
production process runs based on the procedure, to the packaging
process. All done to produce safe products for the customers,” said
Kunto Widarto, Production Director of PT Martina Berto Tbk.
It
is not easy to get an A Grade. For this certification, the company
should fulfill 11 criteria of Halal Guarantee System that admitted by
HAS 23000:1 standard with excellent appraisal and without any findings
in the audit process. The 11 criteria of Halal Guarantee System are
Halal Policy, Halal Management Team, Education and Training,
Ingredients, Product, Product Facility, Written Procedure of Crisis
Activity, Failed Product Handling, Investigation, Internal Audit, and
Review Management. PT Martina Berto Tbk believes that a halal
certificate will make customers feel more comfortable using Martha
cosmetics and skincare from Martha Tilaar.
The appreciation
placard has been given symbolically on FDA MUI and MUI Halal Certified
Company (ASSALAM) gathering event (29/06). It then directly handed to
Kunto Widarto as the representative of PT Martina Berto Tbk on Juli 20,
2020. “In the name of LPPOM MUI, I would like to thank you and
appreciate all the MUI halal-certified companies for your trust and all
the great collaboration we have done so far. Hopefully, this
collaboration will continue because LPPOM MUI commits to increase our
performance so that we can give our best services to the companies,”
said the Director of LPPOM MUI, Dr. Ir. Lukmanul Hakim, M.Si. Halal
certificate is not just a customer’s requirement, but it also the
competitive advantage point that hoped can help to support halal
products in the halal market industry and make Indonesia the center of
the halal product.
