Jamu is one of Indonesia heritage that already acknowledged for its benefits for medicine. For that reason, jamushould be preserved, developed, and utilized to promote and maintaining health and beauty. Not just that is, jamu also recognized as local widom asset, cultures diversity and biodiversity that could boost creative economy.
In order to improve herb and jamu field, especially in Indonesia, on September 26-27th, 2017, Pharmacy of Padjajaran University Bandung held the 2nd International Seminar and Expo on Jamu (ISEJ) 2017: The Challenge of Natural Medicines for Health and Beauty in 21st Century. ISEJ 2017 is a forum for students, researchers, educators, observers, herbal medical doctors, and other practitioners from univesity, research institutions, industry and general public to exchange ideas and share latest infoemations in the field of jamu and herbal medicines.
On this second ISEJ since 2010, Martha Tilaar Group participated in the seminar. Kilala Tilaar as the Corporate & Innovation Director of Martha Tilaar Group attended as one of keynote speakers with some others like Dr. Ir. Penny Kusumastuti Lukito, MCP from Indonesia National Agency of Drugs and Food Control, Prof. Dr. L. J. Slikerveer from Leiden Ethnoscience and Development Program Netherland, Prof. Yoshihito Shiono from Yamagata University, and many more. On this seminar, Kilala talk about the Challenge, Development, and Utilization of Natural Resources for Beauty Purposes. His appearance as the respresentative of Martha Tilaar Group also become company’s embodiment to support herb and jamu development in Indonesia.
