Considering that, Martha Tilaar Group took a significant step, managed halal certification for all cosmetic and skin care products to LPPOM MUI since 2011. Then how the process taken by Martha Tilaar Group?
Stated by Atik Wijayanti as the Product Development Manager of R& D and Head of Internal Halal Auditor of PT Martina Berto Tbk, in 2009, befor the process of halal sertification, Martha Tilaar group has built the system first. “We collect the data, started with the ingredients, then we make sure that the ingredients we used on the products are fullfill the halal criteria defined by LPPOM MUI. Afte that step, we did the internal audit and continued with audit process done by LPPOM MUI,” she says. In 2012, Martha Tilaar Group finally get its first halal certification for products and Halal Assurance System with A grade for the very first time. “In the first phase, halal certification performed on Sariayu and Caring Colours, which is now turned to be Caring by Biokos. After that, it performed on Mirabella Cosmetics, Cempaka, and PAC, and then continued to other Martha Tilaar Group’s products,” she says.
At the same time, Nining Suryaningsih, Product Manager and Halal Respresentative of PT Martha Tilaar Tbk, is also explaining more about the reason behind halal certification for Martha Tilaar Group products. According to her, halal certification is a part of company commitments and responsibilities to produce qualified and safe products, especially for moslem customers. “The company management is really pay attention to the needs of customers, so then in 2009 we eventually decided to certificate all beauty product, including all range of Sariayu. We believe, halal certification from LPPOM MUI will make our customers feel more comforable and safe in using Martha Tilaar products. This halal certification signified that Martha Tilaar products production process is guaranteed and accordance to the requirements and criteria for halal product,” says Nining.
