Some time ago, on April 6, 2015, Martha Tilaar Group has initiated the establishment of Paguyuban Laskar Jamu Gendong Indonesia. One more step to strengthen Martha Tilaar Group’s support to jamu (herbal) maker in Indonesia for these 20 years. Martha Tilaar Group believe, jamu gendong (carried jamu - the traditional method on carrying the jamu in basket) is an Indonesia’s tradition and cultural heritage that need to be preserved, and supported not only by the government but also by the private sector, through support, coaching, and aid.
In cooperation with the management of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah who also has the same concern and big attention to all these jamu gendong sellers, last Monday, April 20, 2015, Martha Tilaar Group proudly supported Festival Jamu Gendong Indonesia at Kuncungan Pendopo Sasono Utomo, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. This annual festival followed by 150 participants and took Innovation as its theme. Through it, all festival participants hoped could create new innovation on traditional jamu, not only just the taste, but also the ingredients and how it will be served.
Martha Tilaar Group through Sariayu and
Kampoeng Djamu Organik feel glad to be participated in this Indonesia
Jamu Gendong Festival. By this event, hopefully jamu could be
increasingly known, loved, and supported by Indonesian people. And sure,
Martha Tilaar Group hopes that there will be next generation who will
be the successor of jamu so it could be a sustainable culture of
Indonesia.
