Dr. (H.C) Martha Tilaar’s journey in building her cosmetic company is started from her love to Indonesia nature and cultural wealth. From the very first time she started this business, she already did so many research to be developed for beauty world. To inherit her research , she decides to launch her book, Kecantikan Perempuan Timur –The Beauty of East Women.
Kecantikan Perempuan Indonesia is an experience notes of Dr. Martha for about half a century dabbling in beauty and self-care that is actually has been launched in 1999, but now relaunched with some of improvement. The lauching event that held in Indonesia Nasional Museum on Friday (10/11), also filled with book discussion with Era Soekamto as moderator, Wulan Tilaar, Dprpthea Rosa Herliany and Happy Salma as speakers.
“In order to dig the richness of Indonesia that related to beauty, Martha Tilaar is not only look at the past, but also see to the future, from 21st century technology to modern society development. So many progress in science are utilized to enrich Martha Tilaar’s products which is also utilize Indonesia natural resources,” said Dorothea Rose, an aouthor who is also an editor for this book. She also mention that “Rupasampat Wahyabyantara” on this revised edition is not only about inner and outter beauty but more over, in connection with Nausantara culture diversity.
Dr. Martha hope this Kecantikan Perempuan Timur can be a book reference that will give so many insights to Indonesian, especially the women, about the truth definition of Indonesian women beauty based on Rupasampat Wahyabyantara, a harmonic mix between inner and outter beauty. She also hope that this book could be a part of Beautifying Indonesia campaign and could encourage Indonesian women to be inspired by local wisdom that she develop all this time.
